Cooper
Although Cooper’s exact age isn’t known, based on his teeth and how long it’s been since his rescue, he has to be early to mid 20s at least.
Prior to his rescue, Cooper had been to many homes, only to be rehomed again a short time later. His last journey was going to be on a slaughterhouse bound truck, but thankfully I heard about him before it was too late.
Cooper was scared of the world, to the point where he would jump out of his own skin at his own shadow. Over time and with lots of work, love, understanding and patience, Cooper came to realise that his world isn’t such a bad, scary place.
Cooper was the first horse to be rescued by the Sanctuary, long before it became a registered charity. He’s been here for about 15 years!
